James Poole - White Christmas

1 WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!

Fact: James Poole has a voice that was made to sing songs like White Christmas. Indeed, I am fairly sure that Irving Berlin got together with HG Wells, travelled through time, heard James singing The Clock Of Our Lives and thought "hmmm, I really need to write a song that will sound magnificent coming out of this young man's vocal chords" and popped back to the early 1940s to pen White Christmas. This absolutely could have happened (hey, Christmas is a time for believing in miracles)! If you've followed James' music throughout the year (and if not, why not?!) then you'll know that the talented fella doesn't just undertake a straightforward cover version - he likes to interpret the music into his own style. With White Christmas he's donned a Santa hat and given the song a bit of a Santa Baby vibe thanks to the seductive bass that plays in the background and a piano that tinkles like icicles bouncing off each other on the branches of snow covered trees. Just when you think you have the song penned, it transforms into a big band style singalong that sees James guide the melody with his always impressive vocal that is entirely infused with a joyful merriment that's utterly contagious. He makes it a convivial singalong that will have you belting out the song along with him (I sounded really good for a few seconds) and you can see that he's barely containing himself from bursting into a merry little jig for our entertainment. It is indeed White Christmas With A Twist and you deserve it in your life this holiday season :) Merry Christmas Mr Poole!
