Australian singer, Anthony Callea knows how to give good Christmas. His powerful and emotive voice knows how to seek out all the nuanced sentiments that come with this special time of year and always delivers with an integrity and sincerity that makes his music feel all the more personal and intimate. His first new festive song, post his triumphant This Is Christmas album, is a rather lovely Disney-esque ballad that reminds us of the child like wonder Christmas used to bring. Called Christmas Day, Anthony sings of how all the woes and worries in the world are so much more prominent when you are an adult and can understand the impact and consequences of some of the terrible things that happen. The lyrics are all the more poignant after the Paris shootings and Anthony delivers his singing with such wistful melancholy and pathos that it becomes a tangible outpouring of emotion. Don't think it's all depressive doom and gloom though - there's such an innate beauty and elegance to the melody of the song and such earnest passion in Anthony's voice that the combination of the two elements becomes what he sings of; that reminder that there was once magic and kindness and awe and wonder in our lives and can be again just by embracing the true meaning of Christmas. A beautiful song, sung with graceful poise - a fine addition to the Anthony Callea Christmas collection.

Love the power and emotion Anthony puts into the Christmas songs and there certainly is no finer voice.
