Si Cranstoun - A Christmas Twist
11 DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS!!

Well this is rather blooming lovely - a deliciously rollicking treat to get you in the mood for the festive season if ever I heard one. Si Cranstoun, who knows a thing or two about blending musical genres together to create exhilarating results, has unleashed a seasonal song for the world to revel in and it's an utter doozy. A Christmas Twist textures elements of rock'n'roll, blue-eyed soul and r'n'b together to craft a song that sends an endorphin rush to your brain within seconds of the opening bars of music. It's not just that he knows how to mix styles together, it's that Si knows what elements make a jolly good pop song and what elements are needed for a successful (and enduring) Christmas number. He's got that catchy refrain that's got added festive charm thanks to jingling bells; he's got a giddy instrumental score that feels like it's the best gift since the 3 Wise Men thanks to an exhilarating hand clap beat; and he's got his own mellifluous vocal style to guide you round the melody (and honestly, because it sounds like he's having the time of his life performing it, the listener feels like it's a kick-up-your-heels hoot to listen to). Add to this a rather endearing message about overcoming the troubles of every day life and letting a little Christmas magic into your heart and you've got the whole package. Wouldn't it be lovely if, once again, the Christmas number one was a vibrant and vivid song that was actually about the season? Si Cranstoun may be just the man to make it happen.
(DO check out the accompanying video. It will have you on your feet and grabbing the one you love for a shimmy in no time. And if that person happens to be the rather attractive electric guitar player in the white shirt, then that would be a-ok with me)...
