I've long been a fan of vocal harmony group The Triplets. They charmed me all those many years ago with their smash hit single You Don't Have To Go Home Tonight - and I've been smitten with them ever since. Their recent revival has bought the rewarding opus Independence Road as well as the resplendent Christmas Time Is Here EP (see review here). To commemorate the wintry season this year they have crafted a brand new Christmas composition called Love Is The Only Gold. This organic, solstice inspired slice of music is a shimmering creation of beauty. It focuses on engaging acoustic guitar riffs dancing elegantly alongside those elegantly woven vocals, both working in harmonious partnership to bring the song to life. It is a beguiling score that gently caresses the intertwined voices, bringing a serene texture to the delivery of the lyrics.
