This will be the tenth Christmas (so nine years but ten Christmases sounds better!) that I will have celebrated Peace On Earth with Matt Dusk. His 2011 Christmas EP has proved to be the very definition of a timeless classic. Since then, his epic Old School Yule opus (see my review here) has become one of my all time favourite Christmas collections. It is delightful, therefore, that the contemporary crooner has dusted off and shimmied off one of his earliest festive recordings, Cool Yule, and re-released it as a brand new Christmas Edition. Not that it wasn't a seasonal saturated romp to begin with - it is a very big band, swinging Christmas when Mr Dusk and his band are here to give you finger clicking fun times. Joyous lyrics have an entirely contagious message while that sumptuous score, fuelled by bass, horn and flirtatious percussion, will have you shimmying across the dance floor/living room/kitchen-while-baking-cookies with unfettered glee! It is two shots of happy with an equally feel good animated video (see here on YouTube). Christmas is coming and this is sure to get you in the mood...
