9 DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS!!

One year ago today, I was writing about Jef Joslin's very lovely version of The Christmas Song. That's still a rather splendid proposition (to roast chestnuts on an open fire), so I'm rather delighted that Mr Joslin is back with a brand new, self penned number for the holiday season 2015. This time he's celebrating the birth of a baby at Christmas - a gift from the heavens to light up his life and bring joy and happiness to his family. Called Baby For Christmas it's going to be a song that's adopted by parents of December babies all over the world for many eons to come because Jef isn't singing about the birth of Jesus but his own bundle of joy. He does it with a laid back, easy going charm that must be the reason he's found himself with a baby because it's pretty hard to resist ;) There's a mellifluous conversational style to the oft witty lyrics that would melt even the Grinch's two sizes too small heart with his earnest sincerity. The music is festivized (i'm pretty sure that's a word) with clip clopping sleigh ride sounds and shuffling bells that conjure up images of gently falling snow (that will hopefully lull baby to sleep). After one listen you'll be shimmying those shoulders and clicking your fingers with glee in time to this absolutely delightful tune. Big congratulations to baby Joslin for inspiring such an endearing - and surely enduring - future classic. Mazel tov!
