I don't know about you, but my royal go to on Netflix (other than revisiting The Christmas Prince) isn't The Crown but the rather charming rom-com series of The Princess Switch. That regal romp is back for a sequel this year (Switched Again) and, once again, features singer-songwriter-actor-all round good egg Sam Palladio as the suave prince. Not only does he revive his Prince Edward role but he contributes a brand new song to the soundtrack in the form of Under The Tree. It is a gorgeous, shimmering ballad set to a graceful guitar accompaniment and delicate chimes. Sam sets the scene by conjuring up images of romantic moments snatched under the mistletoe, as sensuous and seductive as the single's cover art. When a surprise female vocalist joins in just before the first chorus, it is a goose-bump moment that is delightful as any kiss under the mistletoe; then that chorus erupts in a glorious wall of sound, their voices melting into each other like honey into hot chocolate. It is guaranteed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside - a beautifully produced performance that makes you feel both merry and bright. Now grab the one you love and shimmy!
