Ulrikke featuring Ben Adams - Spend Christmas With Me

33 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!

I'm pretty sure that Ben Adams is now Santa-in-training, thanks to his continued contributions to Christmas music. Last year, he not only gifted us with one of the season's finest new festive songs (This Is Christmas, a duet with Morissette), but delivered his own enchanting Yuletide charm with his All Wrapped Up opus. This year, he's not only penned a bobby dazzler of a song for Collabro (Christmas Is Here) but been invited by Norwegian pop star, Ulrikke, to guest on the title track of own seasonal album. I love that Spend Christmas With Me is her debut album - and across the ten tracks she demonstrates an innate ability to infuse each song with just the right amount of emotion; in doing so she ensures that she encourages you to join her in those feelings rather than just telling you what they are...

The duet with Ben is a sparkling highlight in an album full of them. With playful piano riffs, perky chords and jingling percussion, Ulrikke sings of festive declarations of love with a vibrant hope that is all but tangible. It explodes into a huge sing-along chorus that embeds itself in your brain and probably won't budge until January 1st. There's also a post-chorus refrain that is equally delicious. Ben returns the wish for a cosy down, cuddle up Christmas on verse two before the duo intertwine their vocals like tinsel around the tree. Just when you think it couldn't be any more magical, there is a surprise key change that will have you tingling with wintry cheer from head to (mistle)toe. A new perennial favourite has arrived. Cherish it for years to come!
