Learn about her perfect Christmas song, Love's Not Just For Christmas, here

Four Christmases ago, Adetoun was busy crafting the most joyous festive anthem known as Love's Not Just For Christmas. Working with Steve Anderson and the London Gospel Choir, the song should be Mariah-ing up the charts every holiday season - and certainly gives Adetoun her Christmas cred that has had more longing for more Yuletide fare from her. Luckily, she's returned to her collaborative partner, the aforementioned Steve Anderson, to gift us two brand new recordings from her to unwrap. They have exquisitely chosen two classic songs from the deep well of seasonal songs and breathed new life into them through thoughtful production and gloriously expressive vocals. Love's not just for Christmas and neither are these two songs - sure, they will heighten emotions that you feel this time of year, but also give you a sparkling boost whenever you need it, whatever the date...
  • Silent Night ~ the age old carol, so beloved by generations, feels like it was just waiting for Adetoun to sing it. That a cappella opening is as still and breath taking as the descriptive words she beautifully and melodically conveys. The transition of piano playing alongside her is beautifully done, with both pianist and singer exploring new facets of the song in symbiotic harmony. The shimmering crescendo as orchestral strings and layered vocals cascade into the score like ornate snowflakes falling from the heavens. This all culminates in a stunning finale - and when that choir of angels sings the song? Well, you know you'll simply be having a wonderful Christmas time.
  • Grown Up Christmas List ~ sometimes it astonishes me that this hasn't been a major chart hit; maybe this is its time. Adetoun makes the David Foster classic something very special indeed - the decades old words feeling more vital than ever in this crazy, mixed up world of ours. The music-box opening bars are an adult lullaby that we can all relate too; Adetoun imbuing with a genuine sense of longing and hope that is contagious. There is a grandiose nature to the bourgeoning score, as if the musicians accompanying her draw strength from her words. The soaring final chorus showcases her lovely voice perfectly, a musical prayer sent on the stars for the world to hear. Completely heavenly.
