There is something very splendid indeed about bands you wouldn't expect to deliver a musical festive gift actually doing so - and, as is the case with American Authors, doing it so jolly marvellously.  But (love) actually, why wouldn't the AA troupe make some holiday sounds for us? They make music for the hopeful and regularly promote mental wellbeing and self-care on their social media; their latest single, My Favourite Time of Year, is a joyful endorphin boost we could all use right now. The lyrics detail all the reasons why the most wonderful time of the year can actually be so magical - and its delivered with such a euphoric sense of excitement that their sentiments are absolutely contagious. With a perky, pulsing percussion and a radiant guitar riff, their textured vocals and wry observations make this a sing-along jolly ol' Saint Nick would approve of.
