Foster doesn't have the easiest name to find on social media/google but I was lucky enough to have his latest single, Christmas Day, recommended to me via Facebook. I was able to find out that Foster is a Virginia native who is a bit of a whizz on the acoustic guitar and creates these lovely, lilting pop gems that make you fall in love with his music beyond the seasonal baubles he whips up. Christmas Day has a music box style keyboard accompaniment with this gorgeous, gentle shuffling percussive undercurrent that simmers under Foster's engaging vocal style. It is a lovely contemporary lullaby of a song with Foster conjuring up images as cosy as hot cocoa, as sparkling as any winter wonderland you might encounter. His descriptive, poetic lyrics and charming delivery make this one you can play over and over when you just want a bit of serenity and magic amidst the craziness of the season.
