How fabulous that Donna Lewis, esteemed Welsh songstress, has teamed up with David Lowe on what we can only hope is her/their inaugural Christmas single. Coming Home could easily be the start of a yearly tradition of the duo releasing a holiday song - I mean, Lewis & Lowe already sounds like a pair of Christmas crime fighting detectives who track down naughty listers on behalf of Santa! This new single is a celebration of that feeling you get when you are driving home for Christmas and you know that the people you love most in the world are waiting at the end of your travels. With a percolating percussive groove, lovely keyboards and warm, engaging guitar, this crafts a fine backdrop for Donna to sing of her anticipation of the conclusion to this titular event. When jingling bells shimmer into the texture of the song, it really does craft an uplifting, hopeful musical moment that you can savour right through until new year's day. I think I'll love this always, forever...
