11 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!
Stream Melting here (Spotify)
This is now the fifth Christmas I've been able to write about gorgeous new holiday music from Bien - and the third consecutive year of being gifted such a treat. This year is the beautifully contructed wintry dream of Melting. It's a shimmering, lo-fi confession about how love, actually, is all around - and when we find it it can change our perspective on everything. The song goes from cynical to romantic quickly, yet doesn't feel rushed thanks to that wonderfully textured instrumental adding to the narrative of the song. Lilting piano chords, bell chimes, fuzzy guitar and a percussive beat all coalesce to wrap round the magical lyrics like you're being hugged by music. It's the gem of a seasonal song that works all year round - and this one does just that; it's appropriately festive but not so much that you can't whip it out in the heat of summer whenever your need an injection of charming, timeless pop.
