It's clear that I thoroughly enjoy Christmas music - this is year 13 of writing about new holiday albums, EPs and singles for 60 days of the year in the run up to the big day. Keeping track of the music I've reviewed (in the Ghosts of Christmas Past section at the bottom of each review) means I get to see whether artists I've featured have released more seasonal songs! I'm so delighted when they have - this year, I'm checking back on in Jane Sheldon who, back in 2018, shone a light on the underappreciated woman behind the man with One For Mrs Claus. Jane is backing singing her little socks off this year with the sprightly new anthem, It's A Mighty Merry Christmastime. With lovely lilting acoustic guitar and a shimmering percussion, it's a hand clap style rhythm as Jane sings with a charming fervour for the most wonderful time of the year. Throw in some gaelic strings, the finest since Fairytale of New York, and convivial sing-along moments, and this coalesces to be the finest sing-along-with-your-chums style romp you can imagine. Guaranteed to make your spirits bright!
