I love that it is now an annual tradition for Jordin Sparks to take a sip of Cider & Hennessy on her way to Candy Cane Lane so she can spread the Joy of The Gift of Christmas through festive song. This year, Jordin is singing about her Secret Santa (which also features in the charming Roku Holiday movie, Merry Little Mystery). It is a perky original number that peps along at a pace as zippy as any sleigh ride, with galloping percussion and sassy horn blasts that add a frisson of regal excitement to the ebullient lyrics. Jordin doesn't want a lot for Christmas, just some true love - and if Christmas movies have taught me anything, it is that Saint Nick loves love, actually, and if you sing with as much cheer as Jordin does here then you may just find what you are looking for. Love the vocal chiming in this which makes it feel like the bells are summoning a future beau to herald your call - like some sort of seasonal siren's song. I know I'm utterly enchanted!
