I love that my adoration of Christmas music signposts me to artists who are new to me - meaning I get to luxuriate in their festive offering that year, then - as New Year rolls around - spend time immersed in their back catalogue getting myself up to speed. One such artist is Norwegian singer, Peder Elias, whose charming holiday gem, My Kinda Christmas, wouldn't sound out of place in an episode of Home For Christmas. He's clearly inspired by the seasonal sounds that he grew up with as this cosy, nostalgic gem glitters with feel good Justin Beiber Mistletoe vibes (and ain't nothing wrong with that)! Peder is a great narrator of this cheery Yuletide story, all about the wonders of the season that make it have just that little bit of magic and sparkle. All the recognisable moments we've come to know & love (and sometimes not love) are sung with effusive glee by Peder. He's surrounded by a deliciously simmering groove, with jingling bells and percussive rhythms as peppy as any sleigh ride. A new future fave Christmas oldie is born - now go tell it on the mountain!
