Seasons change - and when they do, you can always rely on Scott McCreery to unwrap a new Christmas song to make it feel like the holidays. Two years after his last musical festive offering, Mr McCreery is back to wish us all a White Christmas, his countryfied take on the old Bing Crosby standard. There's just something so magical about the Irving Berlin composition of the song that helps traverse the passages of time and be interpreted in new and nuanced ways by contemporary artists. With a pleasantly finger click pace aided by guitar, swaggering piano, cooing backing harmonies and chiming bells, Scott sounds in his absolute element singing such a luminary song. His voice, as always, is warm and resonant, working in symbiotic partnership with the instrumental to make this new interpretation shine as brightly as the lights on your Christmas tree. There are extended instrumental moments that really add to the charm of the production whilst Scott's own little flourishes give it an extra frisson of Yuletide cheer.
