Hollie Would & Dorian Reland ~ Something Stupid

17 DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS!!

Buy Something Stupid (Turkey Edition) here (UK iTunes)

The Yuletide period is so often full of surprises. It's not just unwrapping that special gift under the tree to see what dark treasures lie within, it's what the holiday season brings out in people too. I imagined that spending Christmas with Hollie Would and the sinsational Dorian Reland would involve me being tied to the chair with tinsel and gagged with a shiny red bauble. That may still well happen, but in the meantime and in between time they have gifted unto the world a sparkling updated version of the Frank & Nancy/Robbie & Nicole classic Something Stupid. They've completely revamped the lyrics and filled the well known music with camp innuendo, smutty debauchery and witty festive insights that will have you gasping with mirth and delight. I for one couldn't be happier that they've bought a sassy irreverence to the season - we could all use a little laughter in our lives and this duo provides it in droves. Ms Hollie, as I imagine I would address her if we were on a first name basis, talks us through her tale of her early onset Christmas dementia (forgetting the turkey? Someone didn't do a Christmas chart!) while Dorian provides a sweetly cooed vocal offering of help; his choir boy angelic performance the perfect juxtaposition to his devilish suggestions. It's accompanied by a rather suggestive video that sees Hollie Would giving full on Nicole Kidman eleganza realness while Dorian looks good enough to eat/stuff in his tuxedo. It's got perhaps the most graphic cooking demonstration in it that I've ever seen, slightly more eye watering than when I discovered that Deep Throat wasn't just a term for an FBI secret informer. All in all, a right good giggle - make sure you stay tuned for the outtake at the end (and click on the YouTube link above to see boy Hollie. Quite the dish). Carry On Christmas :)
