4 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!

The new seasonal single from accomplished British Jazz singer Atila, A Christmas Dream, brings together some of my favourite things about being so enamoured of Christmas music. Firstly, it introduces me to a new artist who has a rich back catalogue of songs I can immerse myself into once the most wonderful time of year is over. Secondly, it was a recommendation - and I love that people think of me when they hear a particular Christmas song (thanks Steve Anderson)! Finally, it is music my Dad and I can continue to bond over (add it to the Matt Dusk/Yannick Bovy pile of CDs) - he loves the jazz genre and at 79 is still excited to see the "youngsters" of today embracing it. A Christmas Dream is an enchanting new addition to Yuletide playlists, a beautifully crafted lullaby style song with expressive lyrics conjuring up picture perfect Christmas card scenes in the listener's minds eye. With a piano that elegantly dances alongside sweeping orchestral strings, Atila sings with a smooth charm. His voice is imbued with a sincerity and wonder that makes the words he savours seem even more magical. It is so lilting and mesmerising that the craziness of the world outside pauses as the music washes over you and soothes with its enchanting whimsy. Thoroughly smitten.
