19 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!

I mean why the heck not? Lots of people sing about Christmas trees but international megastar Taylor Swift sings about a Christmas Tree Farm on her nostalgia drenched new holiday single - and I am quickly smitten by its cheery charm. I'm all for festive tunes that are powered by childhood memories and this is one which deserves a place on the eternal perennial Christmas classic playlist (and not just because it reminds me of one of my favourite Christmas TV movies, Fir Crazy). The song starts with dramatic string-laden introduction that feels it has come from some seasonally themed Bond film yet to be written. It sets the scene perfectly for Taylor to immerse herself in a musical ghost of Christmas past with a vibrant score that has peppy percussion, jingling bells and a finger clicking groove to get you shimmying along to every euphoric moment. The chorus is an instantly indelible refrain and Taylor sounds like she is having the time of her life. It is clearly contagious because this already opulent wall of sound is enhanced by a convivial congregation of backing singers, kicking up their heels with gay abandon alongside her and singing of how marvellous love is at the most wonderful time of the year. It sparkles and shines like the brightest fairy lights on the tree, a new future favourite oldie to revisit every live long year.
