Last year I fell (and fell hard) for Jessica Vosk's Sleigh album - a Christmas album that has found its way back into regular rotation this holiday season (because mistletoe music is for life, not just the season it is released). I always like to check in and see whether artists have embraced the joy of the festivities once more - and Jessica Vosk, along with cast mates from Hell's Kitchen musical Yolanda Adams, Phil., and  Amanda Reid, have combined their voices to take Meet Me In St Louis classic (Have Yourself) A Merry Little Christmas to the streets of New York. If, like me, you're a Brit (im)patiently waiting for Hell's Kitchen's West End transfer, this is the perfect song to feed your hunger. It is brilliantly in keeping with the vibe of the cast recording - a textured vocal introduction blends into smooth grooves, pulsing percussion and heartfelt vocals. It shimmies along like the twinkling lights on the tree with a melange of glorious solo moments & convivial sing-along magic. When the whole cast joins in during a particularly rousing middle 8 (with chanted "yeah yeah yeah"s) it is spine tingling goodness that makes you glad from head to mistletoe.
